Function:  Assists with the overall functions of the Lounge, Biergarten and Banquet Lounges.  Orders supplies and merchandise needed to operate efficiently and to maintain sales.  Inventories bar items on a periodic basis to check bar stock levels, helps with monthly inventories, monitors schedules and supervises all Bar personnel; upholds and enforces all policies of the Bavarian Inn Lodge and the liquor laws of the State of Michigan and the laws of the Department of Health.  Documents performance of employees for reviews and evaluations to insure a professional and motivated staff.  Develops ways to promote sales. Recommends ways to insure guest satisfaction; insures the safety and security of our guests, employees, and of all inventories and money.  Experiments with new ideas or menu items for monthly specials.  Monitors quality, professionalism and nightly schedules of entertainment featured in the Lorelei Lounge.  Spot checks inventory and calculate costs and sales to control theft as directed.  Responsible for the training of all new Lounge employees.  Assists with department meetings for the bartenders and for helping with the training of wait staff at their meetings to build their knowledge of Alcohol.  Assists with all the Events that are held in the Lounge as planned by the Lounge Manager.  Is knowledgeable with all the equipment in order to keep things functional and operational and knows who to ask for help or call in an emergency.

Basic Qualifications:

The Assistant Controller will collaborate with accounting leadership in the overall financial record keeping for the Bavarian Inn Lodge, and its affiliated entities. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the effective supervision of the members of the accounting department and ensures that their daily routines are performed with integrity. Work with the Controller on the timely preparation of the financial statements, and reports required by governmental agencies. Ensures timeliness of various accounting functions to provide timely, monthly & quarterly report. Is knowledgeable in all job functions performed within the Accounting Department and must be able to step in and perform the job in the absence of a clerk. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification is a plus.

Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible accounting management experience in a supervisory or leadership role

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft applications. Intermediate level Excel required.

Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.

JOB FUNCTION:    

The primary responsibility of the Front Desk Clerk is checking guests in or out and collecting payments. Projects the high standards of the Bavarian Inn Lodge by performing all functions relating to registration and checking out of all hotel guests as well as creating, changing, and canceling reservations in an accurate, courteous, and efficient manner.  In charge of the activities relating to the early Front Desk Clerk shift.  Takes a roll in training all new Front Desk personnel.  Must possess ability to find solutions to problems that occur during Front Desk & Reservation operations.  Have the ability or effectiveness in selling and presenting persuasively.  Upselling must be maintained and offered.  Will strive to offer the highest level of guest service offered in Michigan. Performs other duties as directed by the Front Desk Manager and the Front Desk Supervisors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:      

Must be 18 yrs old. High School diploma or equivalent. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Background in dealing with the public, diplomacy and tactfulness.  Pleasing personality and appearance. Ability to get along with people in a variety of situations.  Ability to organize work, good judgment, honesty, and dependability. Proficient in computer programs necessary in an office environment. Basic arithmetic and typing skills, knowledge of area attractions.  

FULL TIME:  40 - 45 hours per week

Usual shifts will vary between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., latest shift from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Must be available weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the Front Desk, reservations, guest services, PBX operation, front office key lock system, advance deposit department, and night manager of a 360 room hotel in order to meet the hospitality and guest service needs of hotel guests.  Responsible for maintaining guest security relative to issuance of keys and room numbers.  Responsible for the proper and adequate training of all Front Desk personnel.  Responsible for providing the highest level of guest service offered in Michigan.  Responsible for organizing work, people, and projects and making responsible decisions affecting the Department.  Fifty percent of scheduled hours per week are to include work at the Front Desk or to include the training of Front Desk personnel.  Will assist F& B Department with carving shifts. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

Two year degree in related courses of study or equivalent in experience.  Previous Supervision experience desired.  Communicative skill, managerial and training capabilities.  Background of dealing and handling the public with diplomacy.  Pleasing personality and appearance.  Ability to stand for long periods of time.  Must be able to handle pressures of long lines and perpetual activities.

Earliest Shift Start: 7:00 am        Latest Shift End Time: 1:00 am *must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and any variety of shift times between these hours.

Assist with the overall functions within the Fun Center by assisting with  ordering food, beverages, serving supplies, retail items, cleaning products; prepares records for analysis and reports; insuring proper training of all employees; helping with scheduling of all employees; directs and documents performance of employees; performs fair reviews and evaluations of employees; upholds and enforces all policies and procedures of the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Fun Center; sets example for others to follow; insures quality services and products; insures safety of guests and employees; protects all assets of the company; motivates employees; experiments with new serving techniques, ideas, or menu items to promote sales or decrease expenses; coordinates special events in the Fun center; insures cleanliness of Ratskeller, including preparation and storage areas, and various items; sets short term and long term range goals and develops strategies, budgets, and business plans to promote the welfare of the Fun Center. Coordinates outside events for World Expo of Beer, Car Show, 3^rd of July or other events.  Assist with outside sale of fudge to other businesses.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Minimum two years bartending and food service experience
• Knowledge of beer, wines, and liquor from brewing or distillation to final service in a Dining Room situation
• Handle pressure situations in a controlled fashion.
• Food handling and sanitation knowledge.
• Decisive, timely, organized and creative.
• Accounting skills with costing, pricing and ordering techniques.
• Good verbal, written communication and reporting skills.
• Standing or walking for long periods of time (8-15 hrs).
• Lifting of moderate weights up to 75 pounds.
• Managerial and training ability to motivate, train staff and to conduct evaluations and reprimands.
• Ability to carry trays continuously
• Good math skills for handling of money and calculate cost of goods.
• Ability to use a computerized POS system
